wow, i did not realize how long it has been since i last did a proper update on how the project is going. November was the last monthly update that i shared, and am quite disappointed i did not remember to make some updates over Christmas and the New Year. As I have money in the account which i cannot specifically pin point how it came to be in the project. I think it was from selling some things. But i will probably remember sooner or later.

Anyway the last point that i was at with the money in the project was $235.46. Which was not a bad point yes it may have taken some time to get there but in the end I did get there. Today however I have some really good news for the project. In the month of February I have been able to add some money to the project which is a good move forward. In fact the total for February was $210.86. Which not only gets Step 13 Complete, it also puts me at the grand total of $446.32 which is just a small step to completing step 14. Or just $53.68 away from completion.

Anyway i suppose i should really share just how i made it to this point so far or at least share the bit of February anyway. The best thing so far is the interest which i am gaining, for February this was a total of 76cents, and is only something that is going to increase as time goes on. It may seem like a small amount at the moment, however compound interest and interest on money in general is quite a good way to earn consistent steady money, even if it is not a lot, however i do expect this to about double in March, with the extra money that will be in the account.

The biggest boost for the project though came from receiving some money for the consignment items that I had though, this accounted for $200 of the income for the project and i am expecting to see a good bit more to come just not sure on when or how much exactly at this point, but should time will tell. Another $10 also came from selling a couple of cables that i had lying around, good to get rid of little things.Finally the other 10 cents came from finding 2 five cent coins. Finding coins is still part of the project however it is not i think definitely a smaller part of the project, notes found may still be a good addition, and is still something i will watch out for it is going to be far from an important part of the project, especially considering the next step is $500-$1000, even $2 coins would take at least 250 coins to get there.

Anyway that is where i am at with the project now, and i look forward to having some more news soon about the project or would love to hear about your own project like this, and how you are going building your income for the project. I think the next focus that i am going to have to look at is how to get more consistent income instead of one off and trickle’s. That is a story for another though.

Well it was only a matter of time until i completed step 12 and it has happened.

As i have mentioned i have plenty of old stock from my previous business, all of which is still in good condition, and that i have written off the cost of buying long ago. As such i end up selling some CD’s for $20.00 and this easily completed step 12 for me.

To complete step 12 it was mainly made up of one other sale of something, i cannot even remember what it was not, plus i got a rewards voucher for $30 from an online rewards program. Finally a number of small finds and the first of the interest from putting the money from this project into an online saving account. All of which with this final sale of the CD’s puts me over the $128 mark for Step 12.

Moving into step 13 this also gives me a good start, and additionally have just gained my second month of interest on the savings account. A total of 21cents for the full month. Also i have made another small find of 5 cents and seem to be continuing to find money. Currently this leaves me sitting at a grand total in the project of $146.86 which is something that while not huge is still impressive place to be really from only 3 or 4 larger gains and a lot of small finds.

This is really where the challenge will start to set in. The complete step 13 i need to achieve a total of $256.00 and currently i am on $146.86. So another approximetely $110.00 to go, to complete this with finds alone will take a long time, unless of course i make a big find. However this is going to really begin to need a little extra work, and maybe look to clear some more of this stock.

So in the last few posts i have made i have mentioned one or two things that i was expecting to come up that should boost the project a little. One was a rebate from one my suppliers that i was not expecting, and the other was totally out of the blue.

Firstly the vendor rebate, this was un expected, i had not even dealt with the vendor in over a  year, but got a letter and just had to fill in the bank account and get the funds transferred. This was $37.20 which is a great contribution to the project.

The other addition recently was even more out of the blue, it was a rebate from the rewards program on my Visa card. Yes just a couple of dollars ($2.35) but really better then nothing i say.

Both of these additions have been added on and it not only takes me over the edge of step 11, which is now complete, but also sits be just under half way to completing step 12. With a total of $96.25 in the project as of now.

As it stands, i should be expecting the payout from an online rewards program in the next few weeks, and also am still working hard on building the content on my websites, and attracting visitors. Ad revenue is still low, however it is doing better then nothing, and something i am working to build. Also i am looking at options for just what i may be able to add to some of my sites in way of products or services to build other sources of income.

Wow, i have not done a status update on how the project is going for a little to long. I even forgot to update when i achieved step ten. So now finally giving an update at Step 11.

So it has been just 1 week between achieving step 10 and now achieving step 11. to achieve step 10 i did a little computer work for a friend, replaced their power supply, and that got me about $25. I also found another 5 cent piece on the floor in the car park. It would have to put me at almost $1 in 5 cent pieces i have found for the project so far.

Then today to nudge me over Step 11, i made a little money selling a domain with my new reseller account which added another $10.05 in. This at the moment brings me into a total of $56.70 in the project, which i am quite happy with.  As it was only in January that i went over $10, and now only 2 months later going over $50. Got some more income for a website i am doing coming soon, and also maybe a couple of other things that might add some income here. So we will have to see.

In other news, i have been playing more with adding content related advertising on some of my other sites, at this point no hard and fast results, but we will see how it goes. Plus working on building content for one or two of the sites, to try and get some better ranking in Google. Also i come across this program for the internet to run $7 sales to sell you products. Well, over the last few days i have had one or two things happen to give a little to the project and get me over the next step. At the last update i had a stake of $11.13 which was only really creeping up due to small finds and such, so was not really going anywhere to quickly.

Well with the 1st i got my tiny amounts of interest on the bank accounts, all up 9 cents “WooHoo”. This is really small change in my personal finances away from the project so as with each time previously i will contribute to the project. Which will bring it up to $11.22.  Again creeping slowly, and at this pace you may be wondering how i am going to get over the goal to reach step 10 ($16).

Well i actually sold one of the items that i have had sitting on a table for months and months. It didn’t sell for much, but i figure the profit would work out to about $10.00 (total of sale was $40.00), so it was a little profit but it is also going into the project. Which brings me up to a total of $20.22. Which officially puts me onto step 10, which is working from $16 to $32. So for step 11 i have just under $12 to go.

I am really hoping that with the new year i will start to put some renewed efforts into this project as well as some other projects that i have going and really get the year off to a good start.

Well, another small gain today as i found a 10 cent coin when i got out of the car at the shops. This brings the total stake i have in the project up to $9.68. Of which $7.40 i have found in coins and notes, $0.28 from unexpected interest credits, and a $2.00 Tax rebate. While this does still really stand at small amount in contrast to the final goal, there are some good stats coming from elsewhere.

I am sitting at about 80% of the points i need to claim a $30 voucher from one online points system, which at the current rate i am earning points i think should have me getting this voucher in the early months of next year, maybe April or May. The other online potential income is from Adsense ads on some of my websites, they are still only giving very, very small return, however the visitors to my websites is growing month to month, and since i added an additional site last month, there is good potential here.

In addition to my websites, once i start getting into full swing of selling at the markets, and selling on ebay, if i do get to that, then i should have a few good income streams, even if they are only providing a small amount of income each.

Well i have taken to putting in some small unexpected financial gains from other areas of my life. I have recently got a $2 tax credit back so that has taken me to a total of $9.34 in the project. and i needed just $8 to complete step 8.

Now this small gains of interest 19cents, tax rebate $2 and about $7.15 in coins and notes found, have been well and good to get me to this point, and while they may continue to help me creep the numbers up when they occur. It is going to be a lot more difficult for them to be the main factor in achieving the steps. purely because i need to find almost as much money again or about $6.66 to gain the next step. Plus my bank account and tax are not going to be likely to reappear for another 3 months or so now.

Which brings me to good news that the website i have been working on for this project is almost ready and i should be announcing it in a matter of days. I am just down to a few finishing touches and building up some content, which i expect should be completed before the end of the week.

Today was a good day, found the first note for my doubling efforts, $5. I know maybe it is the smallest of the notes, but it proves that coins are not the only thing that you can find on the ground. With this $5 it completes Step 7 $2 – $4, and gets me within $1 of step 8. So the total i have in this project now is $7.15

While plans that i have previously discussed have still not actually had any action taken on them (primarily due to the fact that i have been working on things for my primary business, which is not part of this project), i am really getting close to putting in some time and making this project start earning regular income for me rather then just purely relying on what i find when i am out.

Internet is the first step i will working on and we will just have to see what other opportunities arise from there on in.

Well, today has been a good day for my doubling project. I found a $2 coin on the floor when i was out for lunch, which leapfrog’s me past steps 3, 4, and 5 and completes step 6. As per the rules i have taken out the additional 10cents that i would have above the total required for Step six.

In addition to the $2 coin i also found another 5cent piece, the third since i started this project. So as it standards at the moment, my stake is $2.05 and i am working towards step 7 for a total of $4.00. Even though i do expect to find many more coins in the process of my project, and there may be the potential for one more step to be completed with finding coins, however i think from here on it is going to start to come down more to the potential to trade and earn money then that of sheer having a good eye on the ground.

While the original challenge stated that money up to Step 15 (or $80 – $160) you should actually use the original notes and coins which you have found or been given to complete the next step.  I do not think this provides much benefit in the overall scheme of the project. If there was some point that to be proved by using the actual notes and coins then i would consider sticking to this and maybe even going as far as doing this up to a couple of thousand of dollars, however, even though i may only be on $2.05 this is a big enough amount to start even earning the smallest amount of interest on in a high interest bank account, of which i have a spare one to use just for this project.

Anyway as it stands my stake is – $2.05 and i am working towards step 7, till next time.

On Sunday 6th of April, i managed to complete both steps one and two within about 5 seconds of each other. Living in Australia it is kind of difficult to follow the exact 28 step plan set out by Stuart Goldsmith in his report Double your way to a Million. I will post again soon to discuss the full changes i have made as i feel there were some of the rules open a bit to interpretation and i like things to be clear and understood.

The first step that i set down was to find 5 cents, although Australia did use to have 1 and 2 cent pieces they are no longer in use generally, many people still have a lot of these coins however you may only spend them in 20cent lots. So to make it slightly easier and to make things a little more rounded off, (e.g. no odd cents on the end) i decided the first step should be to find 5 cents. Which i completed on Sunday 6th April.  Following very closely behind this i actually found another 5 cent piece about 2 steps further. Which complete step 2 $0.05 – $0.10 on Sunday 6th April as well. So now the step i am working towards is $0.10 – $0.20, as yet i have not come up with to many ideas other then finding another coin to get me there.
