Well i have taken to putting in some small unexpected financial gains from other areas of my life. I have recently got a $2 tax credit back so that has taken me to a total of $9.34 in the project. and i needed just $8 to complete step 8.

Now this small gains of interest 19cents, tax rebate $2 and about $7.15 in coins and notes found, have been well and good to get me to this point, and while they may continue to help me creep the numbers up when they occur. It is going to be a lot more difficult for them to be the main factor in achieving the steps. purely because i need to find almost as much money again or about $6.66 to gain the next step. Plus my bank account and tax are not going to be likely to reappear for another 3 months or so now.

Which brings me to good news that the website i have been working on for this project is almost ready and i should be announcing it in a matter of days. I am just down to a few finishing touches and building up some content, which i expect should be completed before the end of the week.

I have been keen to know as much about my finances as possible since i really started earning a wage. While sometimes that this meant that i knew purely how much money was in my bank account, now it is more and more a case that i dont just want to know how much in my bank account but how i can maximize the return on this money.

In doing this i have found the more attention that i pay to ensuring the maximum amount is returning the highest rate of interest, can really pay off. I have found that the best way to do this is ensure that the maximum amount of money is placed in the account with the highest interest as soon as possible. It was only today though when i was looking at some of the figures, that i realized it makes more sense then i thought.

On the money that i add to my account each pay day, by doing it on the day i get the money, it has made about $5 difference in my favor on the interest i will receive this month. Now this may not seem like a lot, however you need to realize, that is $5 difference by just putting a few hundred in every chance i can. Just imagine what could be done if you had access to add even more then this.

What i am considering is the extra that i manage to earn myself by being very keen to maximize the interest, is maybe something i could attribute to this project. The primary thing that it is really going against the project with is that the money the interest is being earned on is not actually part of the project. However, the small amounts of interest that i earn on my regular bank accounts (not the high interest account) i am attributing to the project, as this is really very much interest i don’t really expect to be making and to date has only been about 12cents.

Hmm anyway it is something that i am going to consider and it would provide a small ongoing income for the project, that pays off a lot more then the amount of time invested.

Well, i have talked about it and considered a number of different ideas, however i have finally got my act together and started on a website. The site is going to be a site that will offer articles that i have written, and return profit through advertising on the site.  The site is still very much under construction and at this point i have only one article ready for the site, although i may convert some of my previous blog posts from my business blog into articles for the site.

The domain name is one that i have had registered for a couple of years now without really much being done to make use of it.  The current traffic to the domain has been consistent at 14-16 visitors a month to the domain as per awstats, which mostly appears to be search engine spiders. So really that is the base line and as such has been returning absolutely no return at all.

Once i have some content on the site and have it properly running i will share it here, and begin promoting it to build a semi passive income for the project.

It seems that no matter how much i keep saying that i am going to work on making something with this project, it never seems to happen, and i am continuing to rely on finding money to move ahead.  While at this early stage this may be entirely possible to continue to move ahead, it will quickly become not very feasible after about step 11,  where i would literally need to find a $50 to move to the next step, and beyond this multiple notes. Which i do not want to rule out as really anything is possible.

That must be any number of other ways that it is possible to make money on a consistent basis, for this type of project. I mean real avenues that are going to show a reasonable return on investment with out just spending a huge amount of time for the equivalent of less then minimum wage per hour.  Even anything at an hourly rate, while $20+ per hour may be good money, it would take an amazingly long time to reach the end of this project. Although i do realize that the actual point in this is working through multiple different businesses, or ways of making money to cumulatively reach the target. So maybe some low income ideas may be of benefit initially to make a solid capital base.

My biggest stopping block is actually making something happen. In reality while i may not have the cash on hand i have had the finance available to about step 22 for over 2 years and still have not actually made anything major happen, just little stuff here and there, which at the end of the day has purely been a few dollars here and there. As i am sure you can probably guess this obviously has not got me very far and at some points even had me going backwards, which is really far from an ideal situation to be in.

Anyway i am going to start from now putting a focus on finding solution’s to the problem of how to increase the money in this project so that i can get to a point where i am making money from making investments of money rather then investments of time.

Today was a good day, found the first note for my doubling efforts, $5. I know maybe it is the smallest of the notes, but it proves that coins are not the only thing that you can find on the ground. With this $5 it completes Step 7 $2 – $4, and gets me within $1 of step 8. So the total i have in this project now is $7.15

While plans that i have previously discussed have still not actually had any action taken on them (primarily due to the fact that i have been working on things for my primary business, which is not part of this project), i am really getting close to putting in some time and making this project start earning regular income for me rather then just purely relying on what i find when i am out.

Internet is the first step i will working on and we will just have to see what other opportunities arise from there on in.
